Contact & Biography

Pure and simple, dogs make my heart sing. My first real memory of a dog, from when I was about 3 or 4 years old, is my grandparents dog Brack, a spaniel. I loved him. Then my aunt and uncle had an Irish Setter called Kerry and I loved him too.

When I was about 7 or 8 my parents loaded my brother and myself into the car one dark winter's night and wouldn't tell us where we were going, despite incessant questioning from us both. Can you imagine the absolute joy I felt when we arrived at our destination to be introduced to a four year old boxer, an ex-breeding bitch whose owner was re-homing her?  This was Lucy and I adored her too.

These three dogs formed my early experience of dogs and ensured a life-long love of all creatures canine and boxers will always have a unique place in my heart; that is my dad's legacy to me. But it's not just been about the dogs, we've had cats, hamsters, goldfish, chinchillas, ponies, horses and a donkey too and they all hold a special place in my heart and my memory.

Fast forward a lot of years (during which time we had one more boxer, Lucy, and Ben, a border collie and Jack a rescued collie-cross, hamsters, cats, goldfish, horses and a donkey) to when I bought my first house after living in rented accommodation for years. After living in a caravan for 4 months whilst the house was gutted and made habitable I made my first purchase for the house, not a sofa, not a bed....... you've probably guessed..... I bought a puppy. A boxer. Sam. It was love at first cuddle when he crawled on my knee at his breeder's house and went to sleep. Sam was the first dog of my own and because I wanted to preserve his life for ever, I started taking photographs. Mostly they are snapshots although there are some lovely ones there too. I've since had other boxers, Skye, Pero and Mac who have all now joined Sam at the Rainbow Bridge and I miss them all beyond words and am so glad that my photography has improved so that I have captured their lives and have beautiful images of them hanging in my home

My current 3 muses are Dora, Paddy and Ivy. They, along with Mac, have been on this photographic journey with me and every time I have invested in courses to help me improve and hone my skills, they have patiently allowed me to practice my newly acquired skills with them (the cheese string and other smelly treats may have been an added incentive). They are the reason I love photography - it helps me preserve them for my lifetime. Let me help do the same for you and your dog.
